1 gurinder  chadha - I'm bristish but.........

Gurinder chadha has a unique style of showing her experience of being British and Asian. This comes across strongly in films as we learn about asian culture for example I'm British but, bend it like beckham and bride and predjuice.

Before making her films gurinder was a journalists and was inspired to make the documentary by the current happenings in her time e.g the riots of the 80's which helped her come up with her film idea.

The difference between how this film was made compared to mainstream films such as avatar by James Cameron is that it came from the directors own experiences and knowledge, however avatar was made on new technology and what it could do and inspirations that came from previous films such as the look of the avatars homeland used from being undersea during the shooting of one of James cameron's biggest films Titanic.

The quick and fast cuts between shots  and images in the short film capture the audiences attention as it takes us on a journey with the director unveiling the past and presenting the new Asian culture from shot to shot and also using music to express this. For example the shot of the train wheel moving and the asians dancing while the wheel starts moving quick so does the change in pace of the music interpreting the journey, change and movement of Asian British culture. This is also shown when she filmed an Asian man from Scotland doing really British things such as farming and then mixing that shot with asian music playing in the background
